Landowners

Good ground, properly recorded.

Register land for sporting use, cooperative consideration or a carefully managed mobile clay day.

Our starting point

We are guests on your land.

Your farm, livestock, crops, family, neighbours and working day always come first. The Gamekeeper listens first, plans carefully and works around your holding—not the other way around.

The cooperative

Let quiet ground earn its place.

A wood, coppice, rough field or sheltered corner may spend much of the year doing little on its own, yet form a valuable part of a wider sporting landscape. With the landowner's permission, suitable neighbouring parcels can be considered together—creating a coherent stretch of ground without asking owners to organise one another.

For the right holding, this can turn overlooked land into something purposeful: managed cover, a well-used boundary, a memorable country day and a considered additional return. The character of the ground is not lost; it is understood, respected and put to work in a way that complements the wider estate.

Participation never guarantees a shoot. Every parcel, boundary and proposed activity is reviewed before it is accepted or matched, ensuring the opportunity remains right for the land as well as the people using it.

A fair arrangement

Value in every useful acre.

Good sporting ground is about more than the number on a title plan. A modest parcel may bring the shelter, access, cover, views or natural line that makes the whole arrangement work. Those practical qualities deserve to be recognised properly.

Each participating holding retains control of its own land: when access is suitable, which areas may be used, and when farming, conservation or family commitments mean activity must pause. The land remains yours, and every proposed use is discussed before anything is agreed.

For a cooperative event, agreed direct costs are dealt with first. Any remaining return is shared using an agreed measure of usable approved ground, access, cover, infrastructure and practical contribution—not automatically by title acreage. Where farms genuinely contribute on the same terms, an equal share can be agreed.

Read the cooperative guide

Nothing is transferred by registering interest. No access, shoot, event, price or land approval exists unless The Gamekeeper and the landowner confirm it in writing.

Sporting rights

Do you have authority to offer this land?

Owning or occupying land does not always include its sporting rights. Rights to shoot game may have been retained, transferred or leased separately and must be checked before sporting registration can continue.

Are the sporting rights held separately from the ownership or occupation of this land?

Land inspection

Every property follows the same checks.

Land is not accepted or registered from this form alone. The Gamekeeper will arrange a visit to verify that permission has come from the landowner or an authorised occupier and to inspect the boundary, access and suitability of the ground.

The process will be quicker if the police tell The Gamekeeper that the land has already been inspected, as a further visit will not be needed.

Written permission

Authority to use the land

I confirm that I am the owner of the land marked above, or that I have the authority of the owner to give this permission. I give The Gamekeeper permission to enter and carry out lawful sporting shooting and associated gamekeeping activity within the marked boundary, subject to quarry, access, land-use and safety arrangements being agreed separately in writing.

This permission remains in effect until the landowner or authorised occupier revokes it in writing by letter or email. It does not itself confirm a shoot, booking, police approval or suitability of the land.

I also confirm that the sporting-rights answers given above are accurate and that I will tell The Gamekeeper if the ownership, lease or authority affecting those rights changes.
